The magical object that I picked up from the ocean on the beach Praia d’Amour in Portugal, I brought to life by exposing living moss on the wall, causing an organic growth, it means botanical-glandural bridge. The leading element of the work is number four. 70 000 years ago homo sapiens has absorbed four other species of hominids: homo neanderthalensis who lived in Europe, Homo ergaster from north-east Africa, Homo erectus from Azja, and homo denisowa from Siberia. Homo sapiens looked into the water, and through this accident, he began the cognitive revolution. In parallel, abstract thinking and the creation of an ego identity began. In my work I wanted to reverse the situation so that, the viewer unites with the organic face of the mask caught from the ocean. The 220 hz sound frequency is the only physiological frequency affecting plants.
My assumption was to introduce the viewer to reject the mind and thinking, to enter into the simple joy of human existence, where he can blends as an observer with the observed reality, blurring the boundaries between what I means and what is Other.Inside the glass cube I placed disposable eye -lenses, which I collected for half a year. On the surface of the cubic, was projected an analogue film consisting of four frames – the only developed images from a 30-meter film 16 mm analog camera 2 x super 8.
Image movement was synchronized according to the time of saccadic eye movements.
The magical object that I picked up from the ocean, and to whom I devoted the entire thesis project, turned out to be a rubber gusket supporting the exhaust pipe on vovlo cars.
